When The Messages Don’t End

Every morning I would wake up to WhatsApp messages – silly reels, always followed by a comment on the day's gospel bite. Today, there were none. Sadly, there will be no more. A dear relative passed away, and with him his humour, calls, and messages have gone silent. It always leaves a void when someone large in life passes away. It's often only then that we stop all the busyness and truly pause – wondering why there is so much suffering, why death still wins. The cycle of life always ends the same way. I can't imagine how it is for non-believers, living without hope in an endless, pointless cycle always ending in death. But for those who believe, we are told – "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants." (Psalms 116:15). This is not the end. Death doesn't win. "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:55-57). His messages may have stopped, but God's Word and promise is eternal. His message never ends – "Jesus is coming".
