Fuel That Never Fails

Fuel That Never Fails

I've run many marathons and ultramarathons, and the difference between joy and not-joy often came down to one thing: my stomach. On races like the 90km Comrades, I couldn't keep energy gels or drinks down, and eventually even water became impossible. Without fuel, you're like a car running on empty. You know you need energy but your body refuses it. For years I tried to solve this. Then on a recent long run I tested a new system: energy gels, sandwiches, and water every 30 minutes. The result was incredible. Despite the extreme distance, I finished feeling amazing. All that had changed was eating regularly and right. Life is exactly the same. The difference between joy and not-joy comes down to how and what we consume. Feed on the world's empty calories – social media, endless news, wealth-chasing – and you'll suffer. But take in real, life-giving food consistently, and life becomes joy, real joy. Jesus said it plainly: "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." (John 6:35). Don't attempt life's race on your own depleted energy. Come to Jesus daily, let him fill you, and discover the transforming power of running on the only fuel that truly sustains. (Craig B). Open Bible – bit.ly/Joh6v35
