Falling is never something we want to do. Think about riding a bike; you will never tell yourself, “Yeah, I think I’ll just go ahead and fall right over there”. We usually try to avoid such experiences. However, if you have noticed someone who is very good at a sport, you will have also noticed that they are often not afraid to fall. In rugby, the best players won’t think twice about a try-saving tackle, even if it means certain pain. Or a pro mountain biker will fly down a mountain even though he knows the pain of falling off. You see, as soon as you are afraid to fall, well, that’s often the precise moment you do fall. And when you fall, you think to yourself, “Never again am I doing that!” There is a quote that goes “Expect great things from God and attempt great things for God.“ I don’t know about you, but I struggle with the second part of this quote, because what if I fall? What if I fail? What if it hurts? And so I reason, “I should play it safe and attempt little things for God. That way, I won’t fall”. And at that precise moment, I hold back that daring faith, that faith that moves mountains, that faith that quiets the storm. Instead, let’s not be afraid to fall for God. For “In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid.” (Psalms 56:4). And being not afraid, we can attempt great things for God. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Psa56v4 (Josh B)
