Today, as I write this, is one of those pivotal aging moments – the one that sees you transition to qualifying for shopping discounts. We don't have many of these milestones, but they invite reflection on the journey we've been on. "Jacob said to Pharaoh, 'The years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty. My years have been few and difficult,'" (Genesis 47:9). If Jacob's years are few at 130, I'm barely a teenager. Yet his word is the right one: we are on a pilgrimage. A pilgrimage, though, requires a destination – otherwise it's vain wandering, which sadly life is for many. My destination is God's eternal Kingdom, the day Heaven and earth reunite (Revelation 21:2), an endless relationship with God, family, and friends across past, present, and future. Measured against that eternity, the days of my pilgrimage are few indeed. And so, rejoicing in present blessings and future hope, I rest on these words: "Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." (Psalms 23:6). Thank You, Lord, for the blessing of life. (Craig B). Open Bible – bit.ly/Gen47v9, bit.ly/Rev21v2, bit.ly/Psa23v6
