Tired of waiting

Tired of waiting

It had been a crazy and scary few months. From the plagues in Egypt that caused the pharaoh to evict them to being trapped between the Red Sea and a pursuing army. Then, the incredible parting of the sea and a journey toward the promised land. Faith and fear struggled as God continued to shower miracles upon them. And now finally safe, with food and water aplenty, they are camped at Mount Sinai. Moses has gone up the mountain to receive God’s laws, and they are waiting for him to return—days of ease. But, as the days roll on, they lose faith. “When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.” (Exodus 32:1). It seems crazy to lose faith now. Yet this is not only an inditement of them, but us. It’s crazy as we reach the very end, as the current events show us, that we are losing faith, saying, “Come let us make our own gods. As for this Jesus, who saved us, we don’t know what has happened to him.” Jesus is coming back! Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Exo32v1
