“Hi, Sorrow. How are you? How is your life working out?” If you were named sorrow because of the pain you were born in, you would not be off to a good start on the path to success. Yet, this is the name that one mother gave her child. He was doomed. Wherever he went, before he did anything, people would know he was “sorrow”. There was only one person who could help him – God. There was only one thing he could do – Pray. And Jabez (his name means sorrow) “prayed to the God of Israel, ‘Oh, that you would bless me and extend my lands! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!’ And God granted him his request.” (1 Chronicles 4:9-10). There is no start in life, no situation in life that is too big to take to God. Bring your troubles to him, and he will bless you. He will be with you.
