I am ruminating on thoughts of worry and fear, feeling my life is a desert wasteland of ruin (Isaiah 51:3). I cry out to my Father and Jesus in my despondency. Suddenly, an elevator door opens in my mind revealing Jesus. Soft light pours from his face and body. He gently takes my hand, whispering, "Come and see" (John 1:39). As I step into the glass elevator a weight lifts off me. He wraps me safely in his robes like a swaddled baby, and the elevator descends from my dark mind. I am overtaken by breathtaking views of an exquisite garden, birds and butterflies, glistening streams, and bountiful fruit trees. What is this place? I ask. Jesus responds, "This is my Father's garden in your heart, where we dwell with you" (John 14:23, Ephesians 2:21). He guides me to soft grass and speaks reassurance: "Come to me, you weary one, and I will give you rest. Attach yourself to me, learn from me, and you will find rest for your soul" (Matthew 11:28). I lay my head in his lap, and the storm in my mind fades beneath the brook, birds, and breeze (Matthew 8:24–26). I awaken to hear my Father walking in the cool of the garden (Genesis 3:8), no longer hiding in shame (Romans 10:11), and I praise, "Holy is the Lord God Almighty! To Him and the Lamb be blessing and glory and honor forever!" (Revelation 5:13).. Their love grounds me securely and roots me deeply as I come home to dwell with them, now knowing they were in my midst all along. (Ephesians 3:17). (Kim B).
