I have been reading updates from a close friend who has been fighting wildfires in his home country. I cannot imagine what it must be like surrounded by the heat, smoke, and devastation. Human nature makes us question why bad things happen, asking, “What did I do to deserve this?” Yet God gives us the advice we need: “Take no thought for the morrow” (Matthew 6:34). God provides for us. He cares for the smallest of His creation, so how much more will He care for us? God gave us a choice to choose the paths we take, and to believe that He will provide whatever happens. We will always have what we need. Help will come if we truly believe that God cares. The Bible contains guidance on how to live, seen in the Ten Commandments; if everyone followed these, think what a different place the world would be. God already knows what we need and where we fit in His purpose, but we must ask Him for guidance. We will have to fight “fires” on our way to the Kingdom, but “with God at my right hand, I will not be shaken” (Psalm 16:8). (Helen M) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Mat6v31-34, https://bit.ly/Psa16v8
