Strong start weak finish

Strong start weak finish

I recently watched a stage of the Tour de France. One of the cyclists was amazing as he pulled away and held the lead for over 50km. The final 3km was a huge hill, but he was over two minutes ahead of the second rider. His win was guaranteed. However, as the hill wore on, his lead diminished until, with only 100 meters left, he was passed, and passed, and passed, resulting in him not even getting a podium position. It was sad to see after he had appeared so strong for so long. He just didn’t have any strength to finish. We, too, are in the race of life. What is important is finishing strong. We are warned that the final hill will be tough, causing people to give up – “Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” (Matthew 24:12-13). But the good news is, we don’t need to try and do this in our own strength – for that will surely fail. Instead, “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6). God is working in you. Trust him, and he will strengthen you to the end, to the great reward. Keep your faith and finish strong with God. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/mat24v12-13, https://bit.ly/Phi1v6
