Describe your life at the moment. Anxious, overwhelmed, fearful of your finances, your health or your future? Lots of giant problems, making you anxious and robbing you of your peace of mind and heart? Israel felt the same way heading into the promised land. The wilderness was hot and uncomfortable. The land they were heading to was full of giant enemies. They were fearful, not believing God was able to deliver them. God promised them a land of milk and honey. He promised them rest from all their labours. However, because of their unbelief, Israel sadly never experienced this rest. Our only fear should be not believing this promise, like them. “Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.” (Hebrews 4:1-2). So let us today, with faith and conviction, embrace all God’s incredible promises, and we will experience His rest. “For we who have believed do enter that rest”(Hebrews 4:3). “For anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his” (Hebrews 4:10).
