After two weeks away, I returned to find our bathroom plant desperately thirsty. The irony struck me. It stood between two basins, centimetres from an abundant supply of water, yet unable to experience its life-giving benefits. Isn't this a picture of our world today? Surrounded by opportunities to know God, yet spiritually thirsty, unaware of the life available through Christ. Paul reminds us: "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (Romans 10:8). "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Jesus is not distant or beyond our reach. He offers living water that can transform even the driest heart. Jesus promised: "Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst" (John 4:14). What an extraordinary invitation! We cannot earn this living water. We simply come to Christ in faith, humbly acknowledging our need for Him. Jesus declared: "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink" (John 7:37). Like my thirsty plant, we can be surrounded by life-giving water yet never experience its benefits. Christ offers His living water freely to all. Do we remain thirsty, or are we enjoying its life-giving benefits? (Nicky B). Open Bible – bit.ly/Rom10v8, bit.ly/Rom10v9, bit.ly/joh4v14, bit.ly/joh7v37
