Our reward

Our reward

“$100,000 Reward offered’”. The offer of a monetary reward will motivate most people to do whatever is needed to claim the reward. In fact, most things in life are connected to rewards. You train to run a marathon and get rewarded with a medal. You study for a degree and get rewarded with a degree certificate. You work hard at your job and are rewarded with financial success. So, what reward do we get for committing our lives to God? We are told that God will give us the gift of eternal life (Romans 6:23). But is this the reward? Of course, this is amazing – a life without end, without sickness, worry, pain, or suffering. But even this is still missing something. God, speaking to Abram, told him what the reward is, and it’s better than anything we could ever want. “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” (Genesis 15:1). We are thinking about WHAT our reward is rather than WHO our reward is. We expect rewards to be possessions, not people. Our reward is God. Our reward is Jesus living in us. “To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:27). Our reward is relationship. Our reward is now. Our reward is forever. Our reward is God. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/gen15v1, https://bit.ly/rom6v23, http://bit.ly/col1v27
