Footsteps in the sand

Footsteps in the sand

Walking along a beach on a windy day, I noticed how our footprints, where we had previously walked, had nearly vanished. In moments, all trace of us having walked here would be gone. It made me think of our fleeting human existence. “The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it, and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.” (Psalms 103:15-16). It’s sad when you think about it. People precious to us who have passed away we still remember. And our children may still remember. But it won’t take many generations before they are forgotten. Who they were, their life and love are gone. This is, sadly, the lot of those who don’t have an eternal God. The Psalm continues. “But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children” (Psalms 103:17). Our everlasting God never forgets his children. He will raise them up. “Can a mother forget the baby..?Though she may forget,I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands” (Isaiah 49:15-16). Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Isa49v15-16, http://bit.ly/Psa103v15-17
