It’s so noisy!

It’s so noisy!

I’m trying to write a speech for my daughter’s wedding, but I simply can’t think. Despite living in a relatively quiet place, it is so noisy. Just across the river, someone is cutting trees with a chainsaw. The noise is relentless. Somewhere up in the village, an alarm is wailing incessantly. It’s impossible to focus. Eventually, the noise subsides and is replaced by the sound of the river and birds singing. It’s beautiful. Peace descends. The wind whispers in the trees. Now I can think. Our lives are often full of noise – not just physical but mental—the endless barrage of news, sports, entertainment, and social media. We live in a noisy world. It’s no wonder we can’t think. It’s no wonder we can’t find God. It’s no wonder we can’t hear Him. As the Psalmist says, “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). Do you feel like you’re not seeing God at work in your life? Are you not hearing his voice of guidance and peace? It’s not God who is quiet; it’s our lives that are noisy. Take a moment now—still your thoughts. Open your heart. Listen and know he is God. He is here.  Open Bible – https://bit.ly/psa46v10
