On an early morning walk through the Kruger, our guide suddenly paused and said, "The birds are having a party" – the air alive with dozens of voices weaving into a beautiful chorus. He then explained something that amazed me. Birds must stay incredibly light to fly, yet every egg needs a strong calcium shell to protect the developing chick. Rather than drawing from the structural bones needed for flight, God designed female birds to build a temporary "calcium bank" called medullary bone inside certain bone cavities. At exactly the right time, hormones release this stored calcium into the bloodstream to form the eggshell – then, once laying season ends, that special bone is quietly reabsorbed until needed again. I couldn't help but think of Jesus' words: "Look at the birds of the air" (Matthew 6:26). The bird never worries about where the calcium will come from. God has already provided everything she needs before the egg is ever laid. How often I carry tomorrow's burdens today – yet my heavenly Father knows exactly what I will need and when. His provision is never late, never early, but always perfectly timed. Paul wrote, "And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). If God so wonderfully provides for the birds, I can trust Him to provide everything I need in Christ. (Nicky B). Open Bible – bit.ly/Mat6v26, bit.ly/phi4v19
