Your Gift Might Surprise You

Paul lists seven gifts God has given, and before you think you don't have any God given gift, see the list of seven. One of these he has given you. "We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully." (Romans 12:6-8). The gifts are prophesying, serving, teaching, encouraging, giving, leading, and showing mercy. This certainly is not a list of miraculous gifts I would have expected. But this is the list of seven gifts God has given us. Take time to consider this list, what is God calling you to? While prophesying, teaching and leading may be obvious gifts, the others are as important and vital – serving, encouraging, giving, and showing mercy. It's these gifts that truly build a church, and spread God's love. "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." (1 Peter 4:10). What gift has God given you and how will you use it? (Craig B). Open Bible – bit.ly/Rom12v6-8, bit.ly/1pe4v10
