I stopped believing in God because…My church fights all the time. Christians murdered innocent victims in holy wars. Christians are hypocrites. If this is how so-called “children of God” behave, I want no part of God. Is this your story or a friend’s story? However, are these people really God’s children? “Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.” (1 John 2:4). If we see someone hating or hurting others, that person is still in darkness. They have not met God, regardless of their claim. “This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister” (1 John 3:10). So, don’t reject God because of people who have never met him. Instead, seek out his true children, who really know him. “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” (1 John 4:7-8).
