Wotz dat?

"Wotz dat? Wotz dat?" These are usually the first words my 17-month-old grandson says when he sees us. "Wotz dat?" is accompanied by him pointing at plants, birds, or even a stone as he enquires as to what it is. His desire to learn is insatiable. He has a curiosity and excitement for the world around him. I suppose many of us started out like this in life, but somewhere along the way we lose our awe and wonder for life. We do indeed live in a world of wonders. These wonders aren't just in the grand mountains or the expansive night sky, but in the small and seemingly ordinary things all around us. God "has made everything beautiful in its time." (Ecclesiastes 3:11). All we need to do is open our eyes like a child and see the wonder of God's design in everything around us. And the impact of being aware, of opening our eyes, is a delight like a child's – a delight that changes life. "Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them."
