Worship undistracted

I sit on a quiet bench near a gurgling stream, surrounded by ferns, butterflies, and lush vegetation. There is such beauty here, so much to embrace and so much to praise God for. Yet the bench feels a little hard, and some electrical cables nearby annoy me because they spoil the scene. Before long, my mind is distracted. Instead of fully praising God and giving him my full attention, my thoughts wander to what feels out of place, rather than resting on the abundant beauty around me. Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37). He desires our full attention. I realise I need to stop being so easily distracted and learn to worship him more fully. When I do, it changes everything. Suddenly, I notice so much more. I hear his voice more clearly. I truly hear the birds, see the delicate detail of the flowers, notice the rush of the water, and feel the calm breeze washing over me. I become aware of his presence all around me, and my spirit begins to soar. (Petru B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/mat22v37
