The gratitude challenge

The gratitude challenge

Many Christians prepare for Easter by undertaking a 40-day Lent commitment. This often involves giving up something, like social media, or starting a meaningful practice. I decided to take on a gratitude challenge. The premise was simple: each day, choose one person and send them a message telling them why they are appreciated. Sadly, this is something we seldom do, often waiting until someone passes away to share words they will never hear. It wasn’t easy, at times it even felt awkward. Yet without fail, as I wrote each note, I realised how wonderful these people were. While I might not know the impact it had on them, the impact on me was profound. Surely this is why God asks us to be grateful: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Gratitude does not only bless others, it transforms our own hearts. Ready for a transforming challenge? Commit, just for one week, to intentionally thank those in your life. Try it. It will change you. (Craig B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/1Th5v18
