Work in God’s rest

Work in God’s rest

We weren’t designed for an eternity of lounging on clouds, playing harps. Sometimes we imagine God’s Kingdom as a place of endless relaxation, but is that truly paradise? In our busy lives, doing nothing sounds appealing—and rest is essential. God established the Sabbath: “There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest…You are not to do any work” (Leviticus 23:3). He also promises an eternal rest: “So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God” (Hebrews 4:9). But what does that really mean? To understand, we look back to Eden, before sin. “The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it” (Genesis 2:15). Adam was given divine work—cultivating and caring for creation—not as a curse, but as part of God’s blessing. Likewise, both now and in God’s Kingdom, we are called to His work: preserving, nurturing, and growing what He entrusts to us. True rest is not idleness; it is purposeful, joyful service in God’s presence. How can you rest in God today? Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Lev23v3, http://bit.ly/Heb4v9, https://bit.ly/Gen2v15 (Craig B)
