Why keep at it

Why keep at it

Fitness goals are the current trend with health insurance companies. You have to exercise a certain number of times a week to accumulate enough points to achieve your fitness goal. This, in turn, results in some reward. Whilst this may sometimes feel tiresome and leave us wondering why we signed up in the first place, it is ultimately for our benefit. This discipline ultimately leads to actual health benefits. The same principle can be applied to how God wants us to behave to receive the spiritual benefits that come with obedience. 1 John 5:3 says, “This is love for God: to keep his commands, and his commands are not burdensome”.  Sometimes, there is a conception that God’s rules restrict how we want to live. This verse tells us to remember that these commandments are ultimately not burdensome but bring us closer to God. This results in spiritual, mental and even physical benefits beyond what we could imagine. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/1Jo5v3 (Jean-Luc H)
