Who am I

When Moses meets God for the first time he asks, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?" (Exodus 3:11). And God replies, "I am who I am." (Exodus 3:14). It's the revelation of God's divine name. God is so supreme His name itself is self-defining. He is not contained by anything; He is all-powerful, ever present, all knowing. Moses, like us, struggles with insecurities, with identity. Who am I that I can be of use to God and His plan? Who am I meant to be? Who am I really? The answer is found in a reverse perspective of our question. It's not "Who am I, who am I", it is "I am who I am…". Our purpose, identity, and ultimately the answer to all our questions is one word: God. He defines us, guides us, and gives our life meaning and purpose. Without Him we are confused and wander aimlessly. "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10).
