If I asked you who in the Bible demonstrated the most remarkable faith, who would you say? Hebrews 11 gives a list of many contenders. Abraham, who left all to follow God. Noah, who built an ark on dry ground. Rahab, who hid the spies. But there is one person you are unlikely to put on this list. He is a criminal, guilty by his own confession, of the death sentence. It's the criminal crucified with Jesus. And this man, while dying in the most painful way, alongside Jesus says, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." (Luke 23:42). Think about this type of faith. He isn't confessing belief in Jesus after a mighty miracle – he is saying it to a man dying on a cross next to him. At this point, when all hope is lost, he puts his faith in Jesus – believing he will do what he said, and establish his Kingdom, when nothing rational supported this view. That's incredible faith. But what about us? We who have the whole story. The story of the risen Lord. What is our faith like? Make this your prayer – Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. (Craig B).
