Train for Eternal Value

Train for Eternal Value

We all understand the value of caring for our bodies. Regular exercise, strength training, and eating healthy. Neglect them, and the effects are soon evident – fatigue, poor mental wellbeing, and vulnerability to illness. The same principle governs our spiritual lives. Our hearts and minds also require daily nourishment. Time in God's Word is a source of life. Prayer is a relationship to enter. What we allow into our thoughts through what we watch, read, and dwell on shapes the condition of our spirit. Without intention, we drift, and in that drift we can feel distant from God, weighed down by life, and more easily influenced by voices that do not bring truth or peace. Yet we are not left to carry life alone. Our Heavenly Father invites us into closeness with Him, to lay down burdens, to receive His peace, and to walk in His wisdom. Spiritual strength is not built in a moment, but through daily attention to prayer, reading God’s word and serving others in love. The benefits too of spiritual health holds eternal value . “Train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come” (1 Timothy 4:7–8). (Nicky B).
