We often only rely on God at a surface level and don’t let him inside our core to help with the things that really matter. We’ll ask God to help us with our lives and careers but sometimes forget to ask for the personal guidance we need that would help with these things in the first place. Recently, my fiancée’s diamond engagement ring had a blemish appearing when looking at it from the top, and no matter how many times it was cleaned, it wouldn’t go away. It was only when we realised that dirt at the base of the stone was causing the problem that it vanished instantly. Psalm 33:4 states, “For God’s word is solid to the core; everything he makes is solid inside and out.” We should keep this same perspective when analysing what we ask God for in our prayers. Of course, it shouldn’t deter us from praying for help in our lives, but we should be sure to ask for God’s guidance to make us better within ourselves to accomplish what we want to. For it is when God’s word works through us that we are solid to the core, inside and out, just like this amazing Psalm says. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Psa33v3-4 (Jean-Luc H)
