Seeing reality

Seeing reality

We recently spent two nights in a beautiful Airbnb. Having driven past it before, we always wondered what it was like inside. For a short while, we finally experienced its stunning views. Yet soon, our stay ended, and someone else will inhabit it. We accept this temporary arrangement with rentals, yet we struggle to apply it to the rest of our lives. We own houses, cars, and other items, believing they are truly ours. In reality, they are temporary gifts from God. One day, someone else will live in your home and use your things. “For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it” (1 Timothy 6:7). Our time itself is fleeting: “You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes” (James 4:14). “What is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18). Therefore, let’s not cling to earthly things like they are ours, but rather cling to what lasts forever – the Kingdom of God and the life found in Him.
