Jesus, the Master Chef

Jesus, the Master Chef

“Come dine with me.” Everyone enjoys a good dinner. When we think of Jesus, we often associate him with roles such as healer, prophet, and teacher. How often do we think of Jesus as a chef? From his first miracle at the wedding in Cana, where he produced world-class wine, to the al fresco banquet of fish and bread next to the lake, to the last supper prepared for his closest friends, Jesus is our Master Chef. Food sustains life. Great food sustains and invigorates. Great food together sustains, invigorates, and unites. Jesus does not just prepare meals for us; he invites us to join him in the preparation. He used the pots and water the servants prepared, the little boy’s two small fish and five loaves, and asked his disciples to help prepare the last supper. He invites us all to not only enjoy the dinner with him but to join him in the kitchen. What meal will you prepare with Jesus today? “Listen! I am standing at the door and knocking! If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come into his home and share a meal with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20). Open Bible – https://bit.ly/rev3v20 (Matthew B)
