“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” (Matthew 5:8). What an amazing blessing from Jesus. But our hearts are not pure; as we read in Romans 3:10, “There is none righteous, no, not one.” So how is this possible? David gives the answer; “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10). Only God has the power to change our sinful hearts to hearts that are pure and reflect his character. “God’s righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.” (Romans 3:22). All we need to do is believe, and this amazing blessing from Jesus can become real in our lives. When we surrender our lives to God and trust in His power to make our hearts pure, we experience the gift of his life-transforming Spirit in our hearts and minds. We experience his peace, love, wisdom, and joy. And through his divine presence in us, we see and experience God in every aspect of our life. What an awesome gift, given in love, to all who believe.
