Crumbling foundation

Crumbling foundation

Our driveway was being rebuilt after it washed away using concrete border blocks set in cement. However, the cement was laid on top of loose sand. While cement is strong, its strength didn’t matter since it was built on something fluid. Before long, the sand shifted, cracking the cement and causing the border to crumble. We try to build the best lives possible: a solid job, secure homes, stronger relationships, etc. We may build with the strongest available materialson offer – a good education, access to unlimited knowledge, health care, etc. However, we focus on the materials and forget the most important thing – solid ground. Isaiah 26:4 says, “Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal.” It is all about what, or rather who, our lives are built on. God calls us to trust in the only solid foundation – God, the Rock eternal. So when the inevitable pressure comes, our foundation will not be shaken. In fact, not only will we not crumble, but as the verse before says, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” (Isaiah 26:3). Perfect peace in a shifting, crumbling world. How amazing is that? Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Isa26v3-4 (Sarah J)
