The bite

The bite

Sometimes the most incredible things happen. One night my brother-in-law was headed to the airport to pick up someone. About an hour later, his wife receives a call. “Your husband is in the ICU. He was…” What comes next is unexpected, “bitten by a snake!” How could a snake bite him driving on a three-lane freeway? He had stopped his car to remove something caught underneath, and the snake was lying on the edge of the road. While the pain and swelling were intense, he survived and was discharged on the third day. The very first promise given in the Bible is to do with snake bites. Speaking to the snake after Adam and Eve’s disobedience, God says, “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” (Genesis 3:15). It’s a battle between the snake, sin and Adam and Eve’s offspring, Jesus (John 3:14-17). Although sinless, Jesus would still experience the pain and suffering of a bite to the heal and die, but on the third day, he would rise, crushing the head of sin and death forever. Because of his victory, sin has lost its fatal bite for all who make Jesus their antidote. Choose Jesus and be part of the most incredible story of all – life despite the bite of sin.  Open Bible –  http://bit.ly/gen3v15, https://bit.ly/joh3v14-17
