We visited a fascinating farm, meticulously restored as an active working farm exactly as it would have been in the 1800s. It allowed you to step back in time and experience life in that period. The buildings, flour mill, distillery, furniture, tools, and art were all meticulously restored. Even the name of the farm was the same. The only thing absent were the families who once lived there. Only their photos remained. It made me think of the Psalm: “Their inner thought is that their houses will last forever, their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names. Nevertheless man, though in honor, does not remain; he is like the beasts that perish” (Psalms 49:11-12). We all will one day perish like the people who lived then, but this is not God’s plan for us. God wants us to experience everlasting life through Jesus: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Instead of placing our names on earthly possessions, let’s seek to have our names written in God’s book of life. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Psa49v12, https://bit.ly/joh3v16 (Nicky B)
