We were camping on the edge of the ocean at the southernmost tip of Africa. After a beautiful sunset and braai, the wind picked up, and we took shelter in our rooftop tent. During the night, the wind speed increased to over 50km/h. The tent shook, and the ocean raged, but inside, we were safe and warm. Lying there, I thought of the shelter God provides from life’s storms. “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day” (Psalm 91:4-5). It would have been a nightmare to leave the tent and face the raging wind in pitch darkness. Yet how often do we do this in life—leaving our Heavenly Father’s protection for the world’s darkness, anxieties, and temptations? Let God’s presence be your constant protection so that His peace, love, and wisdom fill your heart, no matter the storm raging in your life today. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Psa91v4-5 (Nicky B)
