We live in a self-help society. Walk into any bookstore and you'll find shelves packed with guides promising to unlock your potential, sharpen your mindset, and transform your life. And while those resources have their place, they all share one quiet limitation — none of them can rescue us from the ultimate human condition. We will face fear, sickness, pain, worry, and ultimately death. No productivity system or motivational framework reaches that far. But God does. The psalmist understood this deeply, declaring, "Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me." (Psalms 54:4). Notice that word — sustains. God doesn't merely offer a temporary boost or a seasonal encouragement. He sustains us now, and His promise reaches far beyond this life, carrying us into eternity. That changes everything about where we place our confidence. Paul discovered this truth in his own weakness, writing about what Jesus said, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9). Our strength, our real help, lies not in self but in God. And here's what's truly exciting — this frees us to stop boasting in what we have achieved and start marveling at what God does for us. Choose God's help today, and experience His sustaining power at work in your life. (Craig B). Open Bible – bit.ly/Psa54v4, bit.ly/2Co12v9
