A friend recently had to go and help move her elderly dad into a frail care facility due to his declining health. While packing his belongings she came across his Bible. It was old and worn. The outside had tape holding it together. Inside it was filled with endless notes. Sadly, due to his health, he could no longer read this book that was so precious to him every day of his life. Yet this in no way diminished his connection to God. God’s words were alive inside him. He could speak them, sing them, pray them. He had taken God’s words from the book and into his heart, where they would now live forever. This is what we are all called to do. Like this Bible, our bodies will wear away. However, if we take God’s living word off the pages and into our hearts, they will live within us…forever. “That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.” (2 Corinthians 4:16). Take a moment every day to read God’s Word. Let it sink into your heart, and know for certain that whatever happens, even if outwardly you wear away, inside you will be renewed every day for all eternity. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/2co4v16
