When life falls apart

When life falls apart

What happens when life falls apart? Peter and Judas show it can happen to anyone. Both were devout followers of Jesus, witnessing incredible miracles and the hand of God. Yet, temptation crept in. Judas, driven by greed, betrayed his Messiah for thirty pieces of silver. Overwhelmed by remorse, he tragically ended his life. Had he waited just three days, he would have seen his Saviour alive forevermore. Peter, paralyzed by fear for his safety and social status, denied even knowing Jesus. He forgot the warning from the garden: "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41). Yet, amidst this deep heartbreak, the thief on the cross stands as a powerful witness to all mankind. It is never too late for redemption, even when you feel completely broken. Jesus simply needs us to turn back to Him. In our darkest moments, we can always freely experience His radical love, grace, and unconditional forgiveness. As written in Luke 23:41-43, the thief acknowledged his deeds but turned to Christ, crying out, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus instantly replied, "Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise." No matter how far you have fallen, His love and grace is waiting. (Nicky B).
