What does life look like?

What does life look like?

What does life look like without God? The answer is at the start of the story: “The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters” (Genesis 1:2). Without God, our lives are formless and empty, filled with darkness in purpose and hope. Are we mere atoms randomly assembled, ceasing to exist at death? Or are we divine beings, created in God’s image, with His life-giving breath in our lungs? “So God created human beings in his own image; male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27). While life without God is formless and empty, the good news is in the second part of Genesis 1:2: “And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.” God’s presence is everywhere, seeking to fill those who seek Him with life, light, love, and purpose, along with His divine fruit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Through this, the world can see and experience who God is. What does life look like with God? It’s filled with His presence, peace, power, purpose, and the promise of everlasting life.
