We all know that words are powerful – they can hurt and heal. But our words can't really do much unless they have an agent, someone who acts on them. This is not the same with God's words. His words are power. In Genesis God simply spoke and the universe came into being. "And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light." (Genesis 1:3). His word always achieves what is spoken – "so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11). The greatest act of his word is Jesus – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God….The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” (John 1:1,14). God's words continue to be alive, creating and changing. Reading the Bible, His Word is not simply reading text – it is reading Spirit-filled, life-altering words. It opens us to receiving the living Word, Jesus, into us. Words that act, transform, recreate. "For you have been born again…through the living and enduring word of God." (1 Peter 1:23). Open His Word and experience His transforming divine power in your life. (Craig B). Open Bible – bit.ly/Gen1v3-5, bit.ly/Isa55v11, bit.ly/Joh1v1, bit.ly/1Pe1v23
