The Kingdom miracle

The Kingdom miracle

Jesus tells a story when describing God's Kingdom. "The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till it was all leavened." (Matthew 13:33). This one verse is a crazy way of describing the Kingdom. This compares the Kingdom of God to yeast being hid in about 25kg of flour which would produce about 80 loaves of bread. That's a lot of bread. Much more than a household would need. She was baking to share with others because there was so much. And that's the amazing point. That is the abundance the Kingdom of God is all about. When God's living Word, Jesus is hidden in us the result is transformational. Not just to us and our household, but to those around us. The psalmist says, "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." (Psalms 119:11). When God's living Word is taken into us it transforms us. But just like the parable, it produces much more. "If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit." (John 15:5). Let Jesus dwell in you and the miracle of the Kingdom will take place in your life and the lives of those around you. (Craig B). Open Bible – bit.ly/Mat13v33, bit.ly/psa119v11, bit.ly/joh15v5
