You tend to notice things when away from your normal environment. I was having a shower when I noticed a pot plant next to it. It looked sad and wilted, yet was so close to the water squirting out. It seemed like a cruel trick. Even though there was water all about, it was dying from lack of water. I wonder how true this is for many of us, or our friends. Jesus tells us many times that He is the water of life. “Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:14). Jesus can renew our life. He refreshes and restores like nothing else. Yet, experiencing this does not mean those close to us are living in His abundant life. Friends could know we believe but have never tasted this water themselves. Even fellow Christians may not have experienced it. Being close to the water is not the same as receiving it. If your life or those around you looks dry, filled with worries that can’t be solved, consider how you might move closer to the source of life – Jesus. (Craig B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/joh4v14
