Many people choose to live in South Africa for the amazing weather, but recently, we’ve had two weeks of nonstop, torrential rain. We love to run, but starting a run in the pouring rain isn’t enjoyable. It takes a lot of motivation to get moving, yet somehow, despite the downpour, we manage to convince ourselves to head outside. Amid the storm, Jesus calls us to step out of the boat. “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water. “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus” (Matthew 14:28-30). Despite the storm, we felt refreshed and renewed every time we decided to go outside and run. When we fear things going wrong in our lives, it can be so much easier to stay inside, stay in the boat, feeling shielded in the sense of comfort it provides. But Jesus calls us to step out in faith. Only then can he make his power known to you. Only then can you experience the peace, joy and love he is offering you in every storm. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Mat14v28-30 (Sarah J)
