Fainting

Fainting

Have you ever put so much effort into something you almost fainted? I have had this experience running ultramarathons. These races are a big stretch for me as a rather average runner. Often the last few hours push me way beyond my limit resulting in me sometimes feeling light-headed and close to fainting from exhaustion. By the end, I’m left feeling mentally and physically drained. However, these marathons really mean nothing beyond a medal that is soon tossed in a drawer and forgotten. Rather, imagine putting this effort into something that matters – something that lasts forever. “I long, yes, I faint with longing to enter the courts of the LORD. With my whole being, body and soul, I will shout joyfully to the living God.” (Psalms 84:2). Yet, unlike running, it’s not our energy resulting in fainting that brings about the reward, but rather our fainting and relying on God’s energy that brings the reward. As the Psalmist says – “Be still (means faint), and know that I am God” (Psalms 46:10). Faint into God’s arms, and you will shout for joy – forever. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/psa84v2
