Walking God’s way

Walking God’s way

There is a proverb attributed to Benjamin Franklin – “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail”. This is so true in life. We need to have goals and plans to reach our goals. However, there is another proverb written by Solomon thousands of years earlier. “In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps” (Proverbs 16:9). While plans are important, at the end of the day, it is God who directs our steps. He is the one who establishes the paths we take. Life is not easy, and our road is often unclear. Challenges come our way. Distress. Worry. Uncertainty. There are times when we don’t even know what to pray as we look at the path ahead. Take comfort that even in these situations, if we have committed our lives to God, he will guide us. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6). Today, as life’s road stretches ahead of you, as difficult choices arise, walk boldly in faith, knowing that if God is your guide, he will not only show you the way to go, he will establish your steps.
