Our comfort

Our comfort

Mothers naturally do some things better than fathers. One of these is comforting. Maybe it’s because of the bond created at birth when a mother holds her newborn child. But whatever the reason, it’s a comfort found nowhere else except one place, the origin of comfort – God. “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you” (Isaiah 66:13). However, God’s comfort may not always be what we expect. The first time the word “comfort” is used in the Bible is when it is given as a name. “He named him (Comfort) and said, “He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the LORD has cursed” (Genesis 5:29). Any idea who this person was? The Hebrew name we are more familiar with is Noah. Yet the comfort God would bring through Noah was a flood to wash all ungodly people from the earth. When we are hurting, the best place we can go is to God. But let’s know that in his wisdom, he may wash our pains and wounds in ways we don’t expect. But we know that in his love and wisdom, it’s for our renewal and ultimate healing. May the God of comfort wrap his arms around you today. 🌱, Open Bible – https://bit.ly/isa66v13, https://bit.ly/gen5v29
