God’s Boost

God’s Boost

One of our favorite cycling trails winds past a dam and then along quiet roads before turning home. It’s a hilly route but with our electric bikes a lot of the pain is removed. Hills are a lot easier with the boost provided by the motor. That is until the battery dies and you must pedal power a heavy bicycle over hilly terrain. That’s what happened on a recent outing just as we reached the furthest point. My son and I took turns cycling the broken bicycle back. The final 5 kilometers was a constant up made worse by a strong headwind. With grim determination I kept cycling feeling my legs burn as I slowly crawled forward. Then my son had an idea. Cycling next to me he was able to put his hand on my back and boost me while riding the working e-bike. The difference was amazing. Suddenly the hill felt easy. It made me realise that we have two ways to experience life. We can struggle uphill into the wind using our energy or we can ask God to boost us with his energy. “To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.” (Colossians 1:29). Let God power your life, the difference is amazing. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Col1v29
