Jesus once told the people how they could discern weather signs but not the signs of the times. "When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, 'It's going to rain,' and it does. And when the south wind blows, you say, 'It's going to be hot,' and it is. Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don't know how to interpret this present time?" (Luke 12:54-56). It's interesting that he says the sign of bad weather is a cloud in the west. While this is geographically true, Jesus is also likely indicating something more. Troubles start with clouds in the west, and as we look at our world today, the Western world has many clouds hanging over it. If we heed Jesus' warning, we should be paying attention – trouble for the whole world is coming. But for those who have eyes to see, this is also a sign of something far more important: the imminent return of Jesus. "When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near" (Luke 21:28). Don't lose heart because of the storms coming – look up, because Jesus is coming soon. (Craig B). Open Bible – bit.ly/Luk12v54-56, bit.ly/luk21v28
