Dream water

Dream water

I’m desperately thirsty so I head to the kitchen and drink a full glass of water. However, I’m desperately thirsty. Someone passes me a bottle of water they have and I drink it all. However, I’m desperately thirsty. What’s going on? I awake from my dream. I am thirsty, but there is no water nearby and I don’t want to wake my wife by walking around. So I go back to sleep. I’m desperately thirsty, and so I drink a glass of water. But still, I’m thirsty. I wake up. I need real water, not dream water. The dream water is an illusion. It never satisfies my thirst. Jesus spoke about this. “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:13–14). In life we are all thirsty for fundamental things like love, joy, and peace. Yet when we drink the world’s water to give us this refreshing we find we are never satisfied. Our thirst remains. It’s like illusionary dream water. But Jesus offers us true refreshing. His Spirit living in us. Drink deeply of Jesus and you will be refreshed forever. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Joh4v13-14 (Craig B)
