Will your house stand?

Will your house stand?

We’ve all heard the tale of the three little pigs. Each of their houses is made of different materials, and the wolf tries to blow them down so he can eat them. The wolf’s success in blowing down the house depends on how rigid the materials that made the house are. My wife and I recently experienced a real-life example of this as she easily, by accident, broke through some of the drywall of the home we currently live in. This got me thinking how the same principle can apply to our faith. If our relationship with God is strong and rigid it won’t break, but if it is weak and feeble then it’s all too easy for the wolves of the world to break in and leave our lives in all sorts of peril. Just as Jesus says in Matthew 7:25, “The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” We should all aim to make the foundation of our faith as strong as possible as everything else from life flows from it. We need to take conscious steps to strengthen our relationship with God every day to ensure life doesn’t blow us away. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Mat7v25 (Jean-Luc H)
