This morning, we woke to find the valley shrouded in mist. The breathtaking panorama of mountain peaks that stretched before us yesterday had vanished beneath a heavy, damp, white blanket. A child might ask, “Where did the mountains go?” But because we had seen their grandeur before, we knew the truth—the mountains had not disappeared. They remained steadfast, faithful, and immovable, even if, for a moment—a mist of time—we could not see them. So it is with our Father in heaven. There are days when we see and experience the magnificence of His presence, and then there are days when the mist settles in—the fog of doubt, sorrow, or uncertainty. In those moments, we might wonder, “Where did God go?” But then we remember: even when obscured, He is still there. Just as the mountains remain, unshaken by the mist, so is our God—faithful and sure. “As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people both now and forevermore” (Psalm 125:2).
