Immersion

Immersion

I recently traveled to Joburg for work, and the change in scenery, new office, and full schedule provided an immersive experience. Meeting colleagues and learning new concepts, I was fully engaged, extracting more value than if I had been semi-tuned in behind my laptop at home. While I love the flexibility of remote work, I have to admit—there’s a tangible difference between being present in person and just observing from a distance. The same is true in our spiritual lives. It’s easy to become apathetic, keeping our faith at arm’s length, choosing the convenience of a “remote” relationship with God rather than fully immersing ourselves. But we are called to be active in our faith, to be image bearers of God. Jesus so loved us that He gave His life so we could be fully immersed in His grace. Choose to engage with Him daily and live an active faith. “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves” (James 1:22). Open Bible – https://bit.ly/jam1v22-24(Jeremy G)
